Why Down syndrome?

I (Miranda) grew up with a childhood friend, Ashley, whom I loved very much. Ashley so happened to have Down syndrome, and was a major influence on my early life.
When Zack and I had a son born with special needs, we formed a support system of other parents whom had children with special needs, and that is how we met our best friend, Amy, who has an adult son with Down syndrome, and 3 younger boys adopted from Russia. Amy's little boys are our godsons, and all of her boys are very much members of the family. Each one is very different, but such beautiful, precious innocent souls, and we love them.
we are experienced with special needs, both from our own children and through our godsons, and we feel well prepared and very blessed to welcome a wonderful little person into our lives.
